File Types

Where to find it: Content → Media library

The media library supports a range of file types, from simple images and videos to several kinds of web-based content. The type of a file is recognised automatically when you upload it, and shown throughout the dashboard. The type also determines how the file appears on screen: either inside your layout, or filling the whole screen.

Note The web-based types are available only when your company’s plan includes full ShowCTRL mode. Companies on a media-player-only plan can upload images and videos.

File Size

Each file can be up to 5 GB.

Best Practices

Choose the right type for the placement. Use a full-screen type when content should take over the screen, and an inline type when it should sit within your layout.

Use standard video formats. MP4 files using common encoding play most reliably across devices.
