User Lifescyle
Where to find it: Manage → Users → user menu
When someone no longer needs access, you can remove their account (and if it’s removed by mistake, bring it back). This article covers deleting and recovering users, and what happens to any device actions they had scheduled.
Deleting a User
Delete is available from a user’s menu on the list. A few rules govern who can delete whom:
• You can’t delete your own account.
• An administrator can’t delete a senior administrator.
• Otherwise, administrators and senior administrators can delete any user within their access.
Deleting a user sets the account aside rather than removing it immediately. It stays in the list with a struck-out style. Deleting an already-removed user a second time destroys the account permanently.
Scheduled Actions Are Transferred
If the user you’re deleting has any actions scheduled on devices, those actions don’t disappear; they’re transferred to you so they still run as planned.
Important When a user has scheduled actions, the confirmation message tells you those actions will be moved to your account. Take a moment to note what you’re taking on before confirming.
Recovering a User
A removed user that hasn’t been permanently deleted has a Recover option in their menu. Recovering restores the account so the person can sign in again.
Important Recover a removed user rather than deleting again. The second deletion is permanent and can’t be undone.
User History
Every change to a user’s account is recorded. Administrators can open this history from the Audit option, which shows what changed, when, and who made the change.
